Good morning, my friend.
As you know, this Holiday season I have been sharing some simple self care practices here on The Thread that are the very same ones I use myself, with my family members and close friends, and with clients who come to me for private Soul Care and Parent Leadership Coaching sessions. (Incidentally, I haven’t been talking much about my private practice because I accept so few new clients. I will be creating some online group coaching and learning offerings in 2023, however, so I will be sharing more with you on that soon).
I have been sharing these practices with you here on The Thread because I am aware of how much people are struggling this season, even amid the celebrations and joys of the season. The stress and strain of the last few years seems to be taking its toll, and as I hear it, parents, grandparents, healers, ministers and community leaders (the folks who tend to follow me on The Thread) are feeling the weight of it all.
Thank you for all you are doing to care for yourself and others in this time! I hope these flows continue to support you to take exceptional care of yourselves as we enter the height of the holiday season (and beyond). My hope is that the recordings will remind you that we are in it together.
The Jin Shin Jyutsu (JSJ) flow I am sharing this week is technically called the 20-21-22, but it has been nicknamed The Psychologist because of how helpful it is for clearing and calming the psyche (among other things!). In this video I share just the first three steps. It’s a tremendously calming and clarifying flow, helping us let go of the “extra” activity in our heads so that we can have our minds available for what matters most in our lives.
This flow will help your mind drop down into your body and heart so that you can enter this holiday time with greater presence, and with your attention right where it is most needed: radiating from your heart.
Try it out and let me know what you think either in the comments or by emailing me back!
Love,
(Rev) Angela
P.S. This flow is also a great preparation for a piece I will be publishing tomorrow called Reclaiming Love. Stay tuned for that!
